In icy winds at the Pambula Sporting Complex, the Lions were able to secure a dominance in the clearances and press the advantage to win 13-7-85 to 10-4-64.
Narooma front man Simon Mackie had his eye in to kick six majors for the visitors, while it was the Narooma midfield putting in plenty of work to keep the ball away from Pambula.
Jack Clothier and Jacob Breed were two of the biggest contributors, while from the host side it was Harry Hards and forward Angus Tarpey pulling out all stops to keep the Panthers in contention.
Tarpey was on song with the boot, bagging four goals, while Jake Taylor and Flynn Cook both kicked a pair each.
After leading 18-12 at the first break, the visitors out-kicked their hosts four-goals to two in the second quarter to have a 20-point buffer at half-time.
The third quarter favoured the hosts with the wind at their backs and the Panthers found themselves reeling in the Lions by the final break.
Just 13 points separated the two clubs at three-quarter time as Mitchell Wallis and Ethan Adams put in work to help the hosts get some much-needed forward play.
A big effort from Jeremy Sly and Michael Sadler kept the Lions plugging along just in front of their hosts as the Lions outscored Pambula again in the final quarter to clinch the result.
The women’s encounter boiled down to a tense final minute of play with Narooma looming near the Pambula goals and just four points down.
Pambula rallied to keep them out for the final passage of play to hold on for a 3-5-23 to 2-7-19 result.
Lee Collimore was Pambula’s best on the day, working hard through the middle and shaping as one of just three goal kickers.
Annie Gilbert and Jo Furniss also had strong games with some great contests for the ball during a bruising encounter with the Lions.
The Sapphire Coast AFL will have a general long weekend bye round this weekend with the Pambula seniors to have a bye the following weekend.
Meanwhile, the ladies will face Bermagui at Dickinson Oval on June 16.
