Fire & Rescue members welcomed the public into the station to see how they operate and what steps they take for an emergency call-out.
Two trucks had open doors with a hose set-up for some fun, free for those to have a go at knocking witches hats over in the driveway.
Duty Commander Alan Gerrard said there was a great turnout on the day.
“Around the state we had double attendances compared to last year” he said.
Fire & Rescue also offer free home fire safety checks, where Mr Gerrard said “fire officers will visit your home, change batteries in your smoke alarm and have a look around offering free fire safety advice.”
To organise a home fire safety check contact Merimbula Fire & Rescue station and leave a message on 02 6495 3062.
