Merimbula Evening VIEW Club members were introduced to the Fogo kitchen waste container at their May dinner meeting. Joley Vidau from council enthralled the club with information about Fogo and its end result of compost. Evening View president Kerry Lewis received more blankets knitted by member Margaret Speight and Betty Cochrane for use in the carers accommodation at the Bega Hospital.

RSPCA
Sapphire Coast RSPCA is organising its 5th annual Million Paws Walk on Sunday, May 20 at Rotary Park, Merimbula at 10am to raise money to fight animal cruelty. Registrations online at www.millionpawswalk.com.au or on the morning from 9am. There will be prizes for the smallest, largest, best dressed dog and the best look alike (owners and dogs). Local vets in attendance, a coffee van and a sausage sizzle.
Auxiliary
The trivia and silent auction night was very successful with great community support. Pambula Hospital Auxiliary raised about $3000 for the purchase of much needed equipment. Our next monthly meeting is Wednesday, May 23, at 10am in the building adjacent the Pambula Community Health Centre. New members welcome.
CWA
The Pambula Merimbula CWA’s next meeting is Friday, May 18 at 9.30am in the CWA Hall, Pambula. After the meeting we will car pool to Bega to visit the Bega Valley Regional Gallery to view the latest exhibition of Hilda Rix Nicholls, and convene for lunch at the Thai restaurant. Visitors and friends most welcome.
Historical society
The Old School Museum is holding a fundraising event conducted by Elizabeth Bretherton demonstrating the preparation and tasting of Singapore food on Saturday, May 19 at 11am. For bookings or further information phone Liz on 64957034.
