The club congratulated the team of Jason Savage, Marlene Veness, Wayne Paton, Jana Welsford and Libby Allen on their A grade win, just nudging out the team of Leon Nunn, Paul Judd, Nikki Whitby, Bob Arthur and Jodie Whatmore by a mere six points on the night.
Members congratulated both teams on a closely fought final and some fantastic tennis.
The B grade competition was won by the ‘dream team’ of Ryan Marriott, Amy Chester, Nikki Perry, Clara McKinnell and Natasha Sconfienza.
Team members thanked Jess, who filled in on short notice for the injured Natasha.
The dream team played some amazing tennis against Darren Gordon, Morgan Jackson , Shelley da Costa, Elle smith and Rachael Gordon, losing by 10 points on the night.
The club thanked Sapphire Plaster and Peter and Nicole Gordon for their support of the finals series, saying it was greatly appreciated.
“The comp saw a lot of new faces which was great and making it very enjoyable and social for everyone involved,” a spokeswoman said.
“Thanks to all the volunteers who help out so we can all enjoy our tennis, it’s great to see everyone helping out when they can.”
The club’s next competition will launch in September and all existing players will be contacted to renew their membership for another exciting and fun competition. Registration details will be published close to the start date.
