As the temperature drops, a cosy warm coat is a great idea for animals that are outside although it is advised to keep pets indoors as the chilly season settles in.
As keeping warm depletes energy, pets will need more food and they of course still need fresh water – make sure it has not frozen and that the dish is plastic as pets tongues can stick to frozen metal.
CWA
Pambula-Merimbula Country Women’s Association hosted a Women Walk the World.
Twenty five members, friends, children and dogs walked through the beautiful Panboola Wetlands, and then convened for coffee at Oaklands.
Each year women throughout the world are asked to join in this event for fund raising for the Associated Country Women of the World (ACWW) which works in partnership with its member societies, offering mutual support, friendship and practical help to women and communities around the world. With Consultative Status at United Nations, ACWW gives women a voice at International level through it’s links with United Nations agencies, it has over 460 member societies active in over 70 countries.
ACWW provides finance for small projects which are having a big impact in needy communities around the world. These projects are varied but the end result is the improved lives of women and their families. Some projects include vegetable gardens to feed families, milking cows provided to give an income to women, health education and water projects. For more information call Shanne Fanning on 6495 2220.
