The Bega Showground quickly became the community’s go-to ground when all hell broke loose in Tathra on Sunday.

It also became, as we are now aware, the veritable light to which moths were drawn. 

Since the extent of Sunday’s fires were revealed a conga line of politicians have made their way to the showground – from Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and Opposition leader Bill Shorten to NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian, Bega MP Andrew Constance, Eden-Monaro MP Mike Kelly and others.

And, of course, along with the high-profile pollies comes media attention.

But, as always, our interest is rests eternally with our community. Our people, looking after each other and supporting each other in a time of great need.
