It is unknown what caused the fire. Access was via a fire trail directly opposite Bald Hills Road. The fire was contained within the hour.
Two firefighters at the entrance of the dirt track were from Ipswich and arrived at the scene around 5pm.
A female firefighter said “we got the message to come attend a bushfire at 4pm, we only just arrived and they have it all under control.
“We are here because we heard of what was happening, so we flew in to help out and do the night shift in Tathra tonight,” she said.
