Ms Lewis hopes to attract a crowd to participate in an entertaining trivia night held at Club Sapphire, March 17.
“There will be some fun and games for anyone and everyone,” she said.
Ms Lewis has recently spent time volunteering in Asia for six months as part of Youth With a Mission which is an International Christian mission organisation.
The aim of the mission is to train Christians in their areas of interest and to help guide their passion, providing opportunities to reach different groups of people across the globe.
The organisation has provided Ms Lewis with training in performing arts where she has helped to run english and performing arts day camps for underprivileged children in Hong Kong.
She gained the position of team leader in a production called Beautiful Slave, raising awareness to the existence of modern day slavery and human trafficking.
Since her return she has focused on fundraising and public speaking, teaching and setting up for her next visit to either Nepal, India or Africa.
“I have this thing that is pressing on my heart, it is not just me that is able to go and travel but through us as a community we are able to partner together and see lives reached,” she said.
Come July Ms Lewis will begin her next placement overseas to join the medical missions team, working in clinics as a birth attendant.
“I will be walking with expectant mothers and helping them deliver healthily, providing the care that they need.
“I have always loved to work with children and mothers and in particular the underprivileged,” Ms Lewis said.
“It is another one of my hearts to be a midwife. As a kid I always wanted to be a midwife and that has come back in recent years so it would be great to experience this opportunity and to put it into action.”
Ms Lewis’ placement will allow her to complete an associates degree in maternity health, which she then hopes to continue studies in Australia to become fully qualified.
Ms Lewis encourages everyone to come along to the trivia night fundraiser at Club Sapphire.
The event is supported by churches of the Sapphire Coast and money raised will help support Ms Lewis on her medical mission.
Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start. Tickets will be available at the door for a cost of $10 per person or by calling Club Sapphire on 02 6495 1306. Tables seat up to 8 people, families are welcome.
