DELEGATE: Lumen student Ruby Bichard is heading to Sydney later this month for the UN Youth Conference.

Ruby Bichard, a Year 9 student at Lumen Christi Catholic College, will be a delegate at the 2018 UN Youth Conference, to be held in Sydney March 23-25.

Around 200 young people in Years 9-12 are coming together from across NSW to attend the annual conference. This will be Ruby’s first time and she is the only Bega Valley participant to attend.

The delegates will learn about leadership, diplomacy and advocacy. They will debate on world issues, attend workshops, listening to and questioning guest speakers and will tackle a simulated crisis in an interactive problem solving activity.

On the final day of the conference they will emulate a member state of the UN in model UN debates at the University of Sydney.

Ruby is being sponsored by Pambula Rotary.
