It has been a lifelong dream of Ms Russell’s to record an album and said it was an honour to get to record with Lindsay Butler and to have the opportunity to write with Shaza Leigh.
She had great success on the international charts with her first single release Your Restless Heart. Her second single off the album has just been released through CRS Publicity this month, with hopes I’ll Give To You My Heart will hit the charts as well.
Ms Russell spent her earlier years travelling the talent quest circuit and in 2015 was awarded Best Female Vocalist on the Monaro.
On two occasions Ms Russell has had the pleasure to perform with Australia’s gentleman of country music Jimmy Little, and was honoured to sing with South Australia’s queen of country music Sandra Humphries in Tamworth 2017.
She is very proud of her Aboriginal heritage and also proud to have a song on her album that was written about her great-great-grandfather King Billy who was crowned the last king of Burragorang.
On Saturday, Michelle Russell will be supported by Gary Jones and the Poddy Dodgers.
Start at 7pm, tickets $20 at the door. Supper is available and there will be a lucky door prize.
