Spoil yourself and experience a seafood breakfast aboard an oyster punt, floating on Merimbula Lake as you watch the sunrise.

“It is really unique. We have been wanting to expand and to do something with seafood over the water,” Anthony Osborne of Sapphire Coast Tourism said.

“Live a little, get out and experience something completely different,” he said.

Dave Arens from Freerange Catering Merimbula is the talent behind the scenes, preparing a four course mouth watering local fare that will be paired with Rocky Hall Rose and Canberra region champagne.

This first time addition to the EAT Festival will be a perfect start to your Sunday morning, Mr Osborne said “there wouldn't be anything like it in other countries, bring a friend along and get out and experience something you will remember for a lifetime.”

The punts will board their passengers at 6.30am, seats are limited with only 50 tickets available. Visit the EAT Merimbula 2018 website for details.

As the event enters it’s sixth year, more stalls and a refreshed layout is something to look forward to. 

“It is bigger this year with more stalls and more space, the new layout for the event will make the experience much more relaxed for visitors,” Mr Osborne said.

The event features local chefs and restaurateurs’ who will gather in a market style setting to create bespoke dishes featuring local produce.

The dishes are presented in entrée sizes and prices are capped at $8 per dish.

Get your taste buds around the delights of steamed pork boa buns, a Balmain Bug Brioche, slow cooked brisket, craft beer, oyster harvested only metres away, Eden Mussel pies, local stone fruit crepes, 12 hr fermented artisan donuts and much much more.

Bar Beach Kiosk will be back after an absence. Mormors Cafe and Pambula’s Pantry are some of the businesses that are welcomed to the festival for the first time.

The event is free to enter and runs from 10am- 2pm.
