The Diggers contest the ball on debut in last season's Lightning Cup with the club hosting a come and try session at Berrambool Wednesday night.

The Merimbula Diggers are hosting a meet and greet for interested women’s Aussie rules players.

Anyone interested in playing is invited to head along to Berrambool Oval from 6pm Wednesday for a meet and greet session.

“We want everyone to have the opportunity to play so we’re inviting all girls over 14 to come and try women’s AFL,” a spokeswoman for the club said.

The Diggers launched into their debut season in the Sapphire Coast AFL competition and are looking to grow on that start.

The spokeswoman said the club would host some fun games and skills drills for interested new players during an open training session.

Following the activities the club will host a barbecue and drinks where you’ll have the chance to meet the coach, some of the committee and returning players.

More details are available on the Merimbula Diggers Facebook page.
