Shrove Tuesday, or Pancake Tuesday, is a day in February preceding Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent. Many countries celebrate this day by consuming pancakes. Shrove Tuesday is observed by many Christian denominations, including Catholics, Anglicans and Methodists.
Lumen Christi’s Hospitality and Food Technology classes provided the entire school with a feast of pancakes, maple syrup and ice-cream during Tuesday’s recess.
As usual, Lumen’s Pancake Tuesday was a huge success, raising over $300 for the Caritas charity.
A special thanks to teachers Kelly Evans, Ingrid Thompson, Jemima Collins and Sandra Foley for their management and catering skills…not to mention the enthusiastic students who assisted.
