Families from country Warragul, Victoria and surrounding areas have traditionally spent their annual holidays at the Discovery Holiday Parks Pambula Beach for several decades.
The fundraising first started after family members suffered injury while on holiday and and required medical attention which they received at Pambula Hospital.
This is now the 25th anniversary of their family reunion.
In August 2017 the siblings, Ryan and Nicolette Witty, hosted a dedicated reunion luncheon with their local sponsor, the Warragul Country Club.
It included raffles and games which resulted in $900 being raised which has now been handed over to the Pambula Hospital Auxiliary as a donation.
For 19 years Laurie O’Shea, the general manager of the Discovery Holiday Parks Pambula Beach, has been the major sponsor of this family fundraising event, donating time at the park as part of the raffle prizes.
Vice president of the Pambula Hospital Auxiliary, Shirley Rixon said that other local businesses had come on board with prize donations including Wheelers Restaurant, Pambula/Merimbula Golf Club, Potaroo Palace, Merimbula Newsagency, Merimbula Ice Creamery, Tackleworld Merimbula, and Peter and Louise Mayall.
The Pambula Hospital Auxiliary were extremely grateful when Ms Rixon officially received the cheque for $900 cheque from Victorian tourist and regular visitor, Nicolette Witty whilst on family holidays once again at her favourite holiday destination.
The fundraising efforts will assist with future purchasing of vital equipment for Pambula Hospital.
The Pambula Hospital Auxiliary committee has been grateful for the opportunity to run regularly meat tray raffles at the Royal Willows Hotel, Pambula from 4.30pm every Friday afternoon for the months of January and February.
The auxiliary encourages everyone to go along to the Royal Willows and support their work of helping to fund much-needed equipment for Pambula Hospital.
