Around 100 young people from Penrith and Melbourne who are camping at the Pambula Sporting Complex will take part and all local Yr 7 to Yr 12 students are invited to this free event which runs from 5 – 6.30pm.
Pastor Jeremy Fernando from Sapphire Life said it would be an exciting evening.
“There will be a free barbecue, live music featuring two awesome bands, including Wagga Wagga band ‘The Quick and the Dead’ and an inspirational message that will change your life,” Mr Fernando said.
Youth Pastor Steve Hunter, from ImagineNations, Penrith said they hoped to make the camp an annual event.
ImagineNations Youth Group are staying at Pambula until Friday January 26 and the highlight will be the ‘Uncharted’ concert at Magic Mountain.
Mr Hunter hopes to see the Uncharted event become a yearly occurrence, hopefully next year incorporating a youth ‘Battle of the Bands’.
“Our youth in this area need inspiration from within their peer group,” said Mr Fernando.
“There is nothing like this for this age group in the area,” he said.
The alcohol-free event will be a precursor to the launch of Sapphire Life’s own youth group, ‘Oceans Youth’ on February 2 at Spencer Park from 5.30-7.30pm.
