Following an application by Bega Lions Club vice-president and carers accommodation committee member Bryson Banfield to the Lions Clubs International Foundation, a grant of $130,000 towards Stage 2 of the development has been announced.
“It has been a long time since we’ve been successful with something like this,” Mr Banfield said.
“It’s the largest grant we’ve ever received from them.”
Mr Banfield said the application process took almost two years, and he was “elated” when he received news of the grant.
“It was a big relief to see the efforts come to fruition,” Mr Banfield said.
