According to the Bureau of Meteorology there is a high pressure system situated over the New South Wales coast and it is expected to stay put over the next few days.
Temperatures are expected to rise above 30 degrees with a coastal breeze only slightly cooling down the area.
The Bureau’s three-day forecast shows heatwave conditions for NSW from Friday to Sunday.
With little to no rain predicted over the weekend, NSW Rural Fire Brigade reminds residents to review their fire safety plans and stay up to date with weather warnings.
Keep cool and stay safe throughout the heatwave.
If you see an unattended fire call triple-0 (000).
Amidst the hot and dry weather forecast the easterly swell has provided fun conditions for surfers along the coast, riding 3– 4ft overhead waves.
For beach goers, take care as the swell has caused dangerous conditions at popular swimming beaches.
Camel Rock Beach, Merimbula Main Beach and Aslings Beach in Eden have been closed.
Patrolled beaches that remain open are Bermagui, Tathra, Bar Beach and Pambula Main Beach.
Remember to swim at patrolled beaches and seek advice from Lifeguards.
