Two people were flown to hospital after a serious crash on the Prince Highway near the Victorian border on Wednesday, which sparked an interstate response.

A passenger was trapped after their vehicle hit a tree at about 2.45pm, police said.
Emergency services from NSW and Victoria attended the scene at Timbillica, about 2.5kms north of the border.
Detective Inspector Kevin McNeil, of the Far South Coast Local Area Command said a man was seriously hurt in the crash.
“At 14.45pm, a vehicle was travelling south on the Princes Highway at Timbillica,” Mr McNeil said.
“The vehicle veered off the road and collided heavily with a tree.
“A motorist stopped and rendered assistance.
“A passenger was trapped in the vehicle and was freed by Fire and Rescue NSW crews.”
He said NSW and Victorian police and NSW and Victorian paramedics attended, with NSW Roads and Maritime Services and the driver was flown by helicopter to The Canberra Hospital. He said the passenger was flown by fixed-wing aircraft from Mallacoota to Melbourne.
