Mogo Zoo says the incident in which a keeper was hurt by rhinoceros on January 3 was minor, but an investigation was underway.

The zoo said the woman was hurt during a daily routine procedure with a southern white rhinoceros at about 12.50pm.
On Wednesday at 3.10pm, the woman was being flown to Canberra from Moruya Airport with a suspected fractured arm.
“One of Mogo Zoo’s senior keepers was involved in a minor incident during a daily routine procedure with the southern white rhino Kai, in which her arm was injured,” the zoo said.
“A first aider at the scene applied treatment and as a precaution an ambulance was called. Assistance was rendered and both keeper and rhino are okay.”
Zoo owner Sally Padey said: “Whilst all safety measures are taken to minimise risk for both animals and keepers, occasionally accidents can occur when dealing with large mega fauna.”
“Mogo Zoo will be reviewing its standard operating procedures and currently an internal investigation is taking place,” a spokesperson said.
Mogo Zoo remained open.
