The Open Men’s crew won the first leg of the epic endurance rowing event on New Year’s Eve, from Batemans Bay to Moruya, in 2:00:55.
They backed up on New Year’s Day to win the second leg from Moruya to Tuross Head, pushing Coogee and Mollymook into second and third places, respectively.
Long Reef and Pambula followed them home.
North Cronulla dominated the Open Women’s event for the second day running, winning in 2:08:45, ahead of Broulee, Moruya and Broulee Capitals, a crew which includes ACT residents.
North Cronulla also dominated the Masters Men’s event, winning the second leg in 2:02:11 from Narooma.
Wollongong was third, followed by Grange, Tathra, Wanda, Noosa, Broulee Capitals, Bulli, Pambula and Warriewood.
Pambula suffered a blow yesterday with the heart attack of its sweep after the Moruya leg.
Pambula Masters Women helped make up for that, scorching the opposition to win day two in 2:23:48, pushing Torquay into second place.
Avalon, Darwin and Broulee followed them home.
In the Double Ski event, Nick Ziviani and Joe Hasley beat Brendan Cowled and Tony Ireland home.
Paul Buttel claimed the second leg honours in the single ski in 1:33:24 from John Patison and Nick Kirby respectively.
Stephen Bunney, Simon Stenhouse, Gavin Granger, David Schofield, Craig Vipond, Nathan Vipond, Warwick Ward followed them home. Jacqui Keogh did not complete the course.
