Officers of the Day Tony Hastings and Darren Lydiard had planned six races, but a line of rain clouds crossed the lake, brought changing winds and forced an early return to shore at the end of the first race.
After the rain passed, the course was set for the new winds, and the fleet returned for more racing.
The idea of sprint races was to have multiple, short course races that gave practice in starts, buoy rounding and tactics.
At the front of the fleet, Rob Morton and Josh Dorrough raced side-by-side, while the six Sabre dinghies also enjoyed close battles.
Josh and Jarrah Dorrough headed up race one in front of runner-up Mike Stove with Rob Morton in third.
Morton claimed the top spot in race two ahead of the Dorrough pair with Terry Ubrihien in third.
Morton also claimed the result in race three with the Dorroughs again in second and Neil Fisher in third.
The club has also just been successful in acquiring a grant to purchase a new rescue boat.

The club’s first meet back in the new year will be on January 13.
