Nick Crundall scored a resounding victory in the Pambula-Merimbula golf championships for 2017 on the weekend.

Playing in very trying wet conditions, Crundall had rounds of 74-70 (even par) to be much too good for the ensuing pack..The runner-up and veterans champ went to Paul.Welsford.
B grade champ for 2017 after a see-sawing battle was taken out by the ever consistent Jeff.Hazell from another consistent performer in Alan.Roberts.
C grade was an even closer tussle eventually going the way of Brian.Smith.in a play off with Bruce.Gaunson.Fancy having to play extra holes in those conditions.Well done to you both.
For the first time D grade was reduced to the sprint distance of 36 holes with John.Dowler coming out on top from Len.Slater.
The respective handicap winners for 2017 were Ian Ashton, Ian Macartney, Noel.McArdle and Chris Beatty.
One of the highlights over the weekend was the win in the daily event on Sunday by the marvelous character Bob.McDonald. Organisers said it just shows what determination can achieve.
Other winners in the daily events were Ian Bradley. Ian.Ashton, Nick.Crundall and newly appointed vice-captain Ian Macartney.
Last Wednesday some magnificent scores were recorded in the stableford event.
The score of the day - in fact the score of the year - was 46 points recorded by Ray.Walter in C grade.
Ray was closely followed by Trevor Lightfoot with 45 to take out D grade.
The other grade winners were Allan Crowe 42 and Paul Welsford 39 points.
