Tathra’s big sluggers were set loose as the visitors raced to a tremendous total of 4/304.
After dismissing Pete Bennett early, it was the partnership between Chris Dwyer and Ben O’Reilly that really set the stage for what was to follow.
The pair smacked a 116-run partnership before O’Reilly was caught out off Charlie Shepherd.
O’Reilly was just two singles short of his half-century at the time.
Just one run later, Dwyer also suffered the same fate as Shepherd found himself comfortably under the ball once more, with the opener returning to the sheds for 66.
Jory Taylor joined Adam Blacka at the crease and Taylor proved the perfect support player to his club president.
Blacka ran rampant with the bat, knocking an indomitable stint of 129 runs not-out.
The Bluedogs were able to score 100 runs in reply, but it came in patches after a shaky start to their innings.
Josh Hammond and Lewis Hopkins were dismissed on 13 and 14 runs respectively with catches to Taylor and Blacka.
Some cheap dismissals meant the Bluedogs were on just 50 runs when they hit the middle of the order and things looked dire.
A defensive effort from Liam Allan and Shane Baird provided something of a reprieve, with the pair knocking 40 runs between them.
Meanwhile, in Eden, the Merimbula Knights have taken a win over their hosts with one over to spare on Saturday.
Eden went out to bat first after winning the toss and set a target of 182 for the Knights to chase.
Martin Butchers (64) and young gun Patrick Kearney (43) set up the Eden innings early.
However, once they were returned to the sheds, Eden’s order began tumbling quickly and cheaply.
Ray Fisher added massive impact with the ball for the Knights, securing a maiden over and four wickets for just five runs in a three-over haul.
The Knights were comfortable at the crease with a solid opening partnership, but an impressive middle order stand to chase down the total with six wickets to spare.
Brendan Daley got to 23 alongside Matt Lawson, who knocked 17.
Ash Postance laid the foundation for the Knights’ win with a great stint of 64 runs not-out.
Jay Richmond hit a good knock of 34 before he was returned to the sheds, but Zac Wells partnered up with Postance to score 24 not-out and finish off the innings well.
Kearney was Eden’s best with the ball, taking two wickets for the hosts.
Saturday sees the Knights play host to Tathra at Berrambool, while the Bluedogs take on Bermagui at Dickinson Oval. Both matches will run from 1pm.
