The next monthly meeting of the Pambula-Merimbula branch of the CWA, will be held two weeks early on Friday, October 6, in the CWA hall at 24 Toalla St, Pambula, starting at 9.30am. Afterwards all are welcome to join state vice-president Stephanie Stanhope and members for lunch at Cafe 22.
District Arts Group
The October meeting of the Merimbula & District Arts Group takes place on Saturday the 14th at the Merimbula RSL at 2pm. Guest artist Suzanne Lindhorst will give a presentation on the processes of painting in ochres. She will demonstrate how to make paint from the raw materials of the earth by crushing rocks and adding binders, with a follow up of her paint application techniques. Members and guests and welcome to attend.
Merimbula Day View Club
Merimbula Day View Club is holding a spring fashion show entitled Style and Sophistication on Friday, October 20 at the Merimbula RSL Club, 11.30am for 12. The cost is $20 including a light lunch and the show will feature fashions from Black Pepper, Rockmans BeMe and Noni B. RSVP by Friday, October 13 to reserve your place by contacting Iris on 0448 840 752. Profits support The Smith Family’s Learning for Life programs.
Rotary Local Heroes
At 8.30 this Friday Gav and Col will fill you in on all the local happenings, via the News Weekly ahead of Colin's first guest, John Hanley, who'll be talking about the about-to-open Pambula Men's Shed. Stephen Leek is the general manager and artistic director of the ACT Young Music Society, and he'll be talking about musical inspiration for young people. Tune in to 97.5 SapphireFM from 08.30 every Friday for great conversation and music.
WIRES training
If you are interested in caring for sick or injured wildlife, WIRES Far South East branch is holding a basic training workshop in Bega for new members on Saturday, October 14. The training consists of online components, followed by a one-day workshop. To register your interest or if you need further information email training@wires.org.au.
