Liz and Terry Zerbst, of Tura Beach celebrated 25 years of marriage on Saturday, September 16 when they enjoyed dinner at Infuse, Tura Beach with family from Melbourne. Liz and Terry were married on September 19, 1992 at the first tee of the Tura Beach Country Club.

Merimbula’s local community Radio station is combining Vanessa 100th Radio show with a meet and greet sausage sizzle. We would like to invite member of the community to come and have a look around their local Community Radio Station and meet the local DJ’s and the people behind the scenes that have and continue to make it all possible.

Rotary Local Heroes
At 8.30am on Sapphire FM 97.5 this Friday Gav and Col shoot the breeze with a guest or two as they navigate the local news giving their own peculiar slant to what’s going on!! Steve Keogh is one part of a two part breeding and growing Labrador adventure (with Barbara) and has a few stories about altercations with kangaroos. He joins Colin at 9. Following Steve, Michaela Pascolutti pops in to talk about Acess4All. At 11 Kelly Jurd, the Nurse Manager at Pambula Hospital, joins Colin to talk about the great things that are happening at Pambula Hospital. Great listening once again!
Historical society
The Merimbula Historical society had their AGM on the August 28 at the RSL most positions were filled Don Bretherton is President, Gary Moorhead is vice president, Shirley Bazley is secretary and Liz Bretherton is Curator other committee members are Brigitte Kestermann and new committee member Andrew MacManis, we are still looking for a Treasurer at this stage.
Our next members meeting will be on September at the Merimbula RSL at 2.00pm, our guest speaker will be Gary and Collette Moorhead talking on their latest holiday “From Iceland to the North pole” all are welcome.
Membership fees are now overdue.
Lions Club
Lions Club of Pambula Merimbula is holding a High Tea on Friday, September 22, at the CWA Rooms, Toalla Street Pambula 2.00 to 4.30pm. Cost is $20 per head. Funds raised will go towards projects in our local community. For bookings and further details please contact Lyn Matthews 0416 001 054.
Garden Club
The Merimbula and District Garden Club will hold its next meeting at 10.15am on Saturday, September 23th at the R.S.L. Club in Merimbula. Our speaker will be Ann Louise who will speak about her role as an educator and work with the students of the Sapphire Coast Anglican College who enjoy and study a fully functioning garden where they grow fruit and vegetables and care for small livestock.
Visitors and new members will be welcome.
Parkinson Support
Tania Dwyer, local consultant pharmasist, was the guest speaker at the September meeting of the Bega Valley Parkinson Support Group. Tania makes an annual visit to the group to discus any new Parkinson medication that has become available as well as any general medication that members of the group need to help their life with Parkinson's.The numerous questions from the members to Tania showed the value of her presentation. The President Bob McDonald and Secretary Jean Nicholson attended a support group leaders conference in Sydney. The two day conference was of great value to the leaders and some very good information was forthcoming to help in the operation of the group. A full report will be presented at the October meeting. Members of the group are reminded that the CEO of Parkinson NSW Jo-Anne Reeves will be our guest at the 6th November meeting. All members are urged to attend as well as any one from the public. The next meeting has been put back a week to the 9th OcTober due to the fact that the first Monday is a public holiday.
