Long Way Home by the primary 8-10 years class describes a journey of friendship through the Australian bush, while Live! It's Fairytale News performed by the primary 10-12 years class is a cross between the nightly news channel and everyone's favourite fairytales, with some scenes written by the students themselves, touching on environmental concerns.
Director Lis Shelley said apart from learning lines, students are encouraged to improvise, work together, be responsible for looking after their own costumes and props and learn professional stage directions.
“Some of the students only began drama in Term 1 this year but have already made great progress in their self-confidence and voice skills," Ms Shelley said.
The family-friendly performance will take place at 2pm on Saturday, September 2 at Pambula Town Hall, and run for around 35 minutes before students, families and audience come together for a celebratory afternoon tea.
Tickets are available from www.stageflight.com.au or at the door $10 for adults, $5 for children, kids under 5 free.
