Members were joined by VIEW’s national president Gwen Wilton, who also presented several long service badges.
Of particular note were the 20-year badges presented to Denise Mynott and Shirley Cameron.
Ms Mynott was an inaugural member of the Merimbula Day VIEW Club and Ms Cameron is an import from the Bega club. They were both roundly applauded on their commitment to the group.
Ms Wilton said she was so pleased to see the big turnout to the lunch, as well as the warm welcome she received from the Bega Evening VIEW Club members the previous night.
“We’re working all the time on opening new clubs, we have five new opening in Australia in this term of mine as president,” she said.
Ms Wilton said VIEW had around 16,000 members across the country and supported 1215 “learning for life” students through the SMith Family’s work in supporting education programs for disadvantaged youth.
“It’s a wonderful organisation. It’s bringing women together for friendship as well as to support our local communities.”
