Amalia saves up for Potoroo’s animals

On a recent Mumbulla School winter excursion to Potoroo Palace, pupil Amalia Grace surprised everyone when she unexpectedly handed a big jar of money to staff and very quietly and humbly announced it was for the animals.

At first it was believed to have been collected from everyone, but it was soon realised Amalia had saved the $46.10 all by herself. Staff were very moved by her offer and a big thank you came from both the staff and the Palace’s founding patron, Alexandra Seddon.

Potoroo Palace has been overwhelmed in the past month by the generosity of the public, particularly since the recent showing on national television of the background stories and origins of several local sanctuaries founded by Ms Seddon.

“So many people have been deeply moved and just want to help in some way after seeing and hearing the full story,” said Lea Pinker, one of Potoroo’s co-directors.
