Member for Bega Andrew Constance is asking the community to show support for construction and funding of artificial reefs for Eurobodalla.
Mr Constance said the Eurobodalla Recreational Fishing Action Group (ERFAG) has prepared a submission to support a new Offshore Artificial Reef to be situated off the coast of the Eurobodalla between Batemans Bay and Moruya.

“The reef would be designed specifically to attract up to 50 different species of fish providing a long term sustainable boost to the local habitats,” he said.
“They are constructed from a series of steel or concrete modules, which are non-polluting, have a minimum design-life of 30 years and can withstand 1-in 100-year storm event.
“I want to see this happen for our region, so I am calling on the community to get behind this petition and support ERFAG in their endeavour to future proof our recreational fishing.
“Adam Martin, president of the Tomakin Fishing Club has been the driving force behind this proposal and I am pleased to be supporting his push for this amazing piece of infrastructure.
“By digitally signing the petition, it will allow me to submit the results to the Honourable Niall Blair Minister for Primary Industries to support an application for funding.”
