Churches join in the festival spirit

The 25-strong Canberra-based Llewellyn Choir will perform the jazz mass, ‘Mass in Blue’, at the jazz festival ecumenical service on Sunday, June 11, starting at 11.30am at St Joseph’s Catholic Church, Merimbula.

The popular Rhythm Syndicate vocal group will also be presenting items and then joining forces with the Llewellyn Choir for the congregational hymn selection.

“Between us all I reckon we’ll lift the roof off the church,” choir organiser Ted Briggs said.

Merimbula Uniting Church will hold a jazz service too on Sunday, June 11 at 10 am with music by Mike’s Mainstreamers and Captain Bob’s Stationhouse 7 who will have feet tapping and hands clapping.

Everyone is welcome  to both services.
