VIEW PLANNING AHEAD
The next lunch meeting of Merimbula Day VIEW Club will be held at Merimbula RSL on Friday, June 9. Lunch is served at 12 noon, those attending are asked to be at the club by 11.30am. Bookings and cancellations can be made by ringing Iris Ballard by Wednesday, June 7 on 0448840752. This month’s guest speaker will be palliative care nurse Bronwyn Raatz who will talk to us about advance planning and any ladies who are looking for friendship, fun and hearing interesting guest speakers while supporting the work of The Smith Family assisting disadvantaged Australian children make the most of their education, would be most welcome. IMLAY HOUSE AUXILIARY
The Imlay House Auxiliary members and friends are getting ready for the Jazz Festival weekend with a street stall to be held on Friday, June 9, from 10.30am in Merimbula, outside Swannies. We are baking up a storm, with homemade sausage rolls, cakes and slices, jams and chutneys, plus secondhand books. So come along on Friday morning and start the weekend with something yummy to tempt family and friends, plus you are helping us to raise money to purchase much needed items for our nursing home.
Merimbula Uniting Church
Merimbula Uniting church will again hold a jazz service this year on Sunday, June 11 at 10am. The service will be led by Rev. David Russell and the band of Mike’s Mainstreamers and Captain Bob’s Stationhouse 7 will have feet tapping and hands clapping. The band has been a regular at the jazz weekend church service and their generosity is very much appreciated. Everyone is welcome and there will be a beautiful morning tea served after the service. FREE LEGAL ADVICE
On Wednesday, June 14, a Solicitor from Shoalcoast Community Legal Centre will be visiting Merimbula to provide free legal advice to women with booked appointments.
Shoalcoast solicitors are experienced in resolving many types of legal problems. Our advice clinics provide residents with a good opportunity to get free professional advice. If we are unable to help we will ensure people contacting our service are provided with an appropriate referral to another service.
The next free legal will be held at the Tura Marrang Library and Community Centre from 9.30am – 11.30am.
Appointments must be made to ensure the matter is one in which our Service can give advice. Shoalcoast deals with most non-commercial areas of law, including consumer credit and debt, family law, Centrelink problems, employment, tenancy issues, power of attorney, discrimination and victims compensation for childhood assault, sexual assault or domestic violence.

Merimbula P&C Trivia
The Merimbula Public School P&C is hosting a trivia night on Saturday , June 24 at 7pm for 7.30pm start. Tickets are $15 per person. There will be a lucky door prize, nibbles, raffles and an auction. The theme for the night is I love 80s. Tickets available from Club Sapphire 6495 1306.
Church History
Pambula Baptist Church is hosting a church history fun day on Saturday June 17. They will be celebrating God's goodness over nearly 40 years.
At noon there will be a free barbecue lunch with activities, games and displays. From 3pm there will be afternoon tea, anecdotes and stories accompanied by photographic displays and memorabillia. The day should finish by 5pm.
Old PBC'ers are especially welcome to remember the past as we look forward to the future. If you are aiming to attend the barbecue lunch, please RSVP to Judy Davidson on 0419 009 185.
There will also be a service of thanksgiving and remembering on Sunday, June 18, at 9:30am.
Rotary Local Heroes
Coming up this Friday on 97.5 Sapphire FM, from 8:30am: Pumpkin scones, permaculture and pinot noir. Following Colin and Gav's news round up, Pambula CWA president, Elizabeth Prosser will be Colin's first guest. Beth Moore of Pambula Rotary will be next, and later, you'll hear all about sommelier, Stephen James's journey into the world of viticulture.
BMT at Merimbula Airport
Merimbula Airport’s Biggest Morning Tea proved to be a winner with $1370.15 raised from the spread and associated raffles. All funds will be donated to the NSW Cancer Council. Organiser Melissa Thane, who runs the airport with husband Chris, said she was very pleased with around 80 people attending the event.
Pet of the week
Jackie the seven-year-old Kelpie is looking for a home with a family where someone is home a lot of the time and where she can be by their side. She loves company but can be an only dog as this is what she is used to. Jackie is a working dog so will need lots of exercise and games to keep her happy.
