The one hour workshops will be held in Bermagui, Merimbula and Eden on Thursdays from May 18. A Tathra workshop has already filled up.
“The workshops mean that locals who are in the tourism industry can take a moment to look at the way social media fits into their business and grab some tools to help manage it,” Sapphire Coast Tourism’s digital coordinator Sarah Chenhall said.
“These workshops will be especially valuable for people who are running a tourism business, and publishing on multiple social media platforms as well.
“Platforms like Facebook and Instagram are powerful ways to build a community around your business story, and it’s really helpful to have a strategic approach, no matter how simple.
“So far we’ve heard from people who operate guided adventures and attractions along with food, beer and wine producers.”
The workshops will include personalised ideas for content creation, tips for profile bios and business information, free tools to manage posts across multiple platforms and gain insights into what is working and Facebook advertising.
There will also be information on how to work with organisations like Visit Canberra, Destination NSW and Tourism Australia.
