Weekly prizes and a lucky draw for an iPad mini will keep children and teens reading this summer with the Bega Valley Shire Library’s Summer Reading Club.
Partnerships and Programs Officer, Scott Baker said that this year’s Summer Reading Club theme is Heroes & Villains.
“Children and teenagers can unleash their imagination as they meet heroes, villains and sidekicks through picture books, novels, factual books and eBooks available from our libraries,” he said.
“School’s out but we know it’s important that children keep developing their reading skills over the holidays and we want to make reading fun.”
“Our Summer Reading Club launch parties will kick off the fun across the Shire in January.”
Parties will start at 10.30am at Bega library on Thursday, January 5, Tura Marrang library on Monday, January 9, Bermagui library on Tuesday, January 10, and Eden library on Thursday, January 12.
It’s easy to take part in the Summer Reading Club. First make sure you are a member of the Bega Valley Shire Library and then register for the reading club at any of our libraries at Bermagui, Bega, Eden or Tura Marrang.
Registrations will open from Tuesday, January 3, and all participants will receive a gift bag at registration.
For those not already library members, the library is free to join and it only takes a few minutes in person or online at www.begavalley.nsw.gov.au to sign up.
Libraries will also offer a range of holiday activities for all ages throughout January including animation workshops, craft activities, a Tech Expo and special Storytimes.
Please contact your local library for a schedule or go to www.begavalleyshirelibrary.eventbrite.com.au
