A car crash on the Princes Highway near Pambula at 8am on Tuesday morning resulted in an oil spill which covered a 3.5km section of the highway and took almost five hours to remove using absorbent material.
NSW Police traced the leak to a heavy vehicle, a Roads and Maritime Services’ spokesperson said.
The Rural Fire Service attended the scene, which stretched from Mt Darragh Rd to Acacia Ponds Caravan Park. Three vehicle accidents reportedly occurred as a result of the spill, with cars slipping off the road.
