As part of Mental Health Month, Bega Valley SPAN is holding a “Remembrance Ride” on Saturday, October 22.
Bikers of all persuasions are invited to meet at Kiss's Lagoon in Bega at 11am for a 11.15am departure, heading to the Pambula River mouth.
At noon a simple service will be held to pay tribute to all lost loved ones, followed by a ceremonial throwing of flowers into the inlet.
“It’s Mental Health Month and there’s a focus on tackling suicide awareness, but this ride is for anyone who has lost a loved one,” SPAN deputy chairman Glenn Cotter said. “It’s a time to get together to remember friends and family without getting too formal – it’s a very personal day.”
Mr Cotter said flowers will be available at the service for people to pay their respects and the ride home will be via Wolumla Hotel, where the lives of those lost will be celebrated with companionship and refreshments.
Bike registration is $5 with all proceeds to SPAN. Inquiries to Glenn Cotter on 0402 474 514.
