The Merimbula Special Events Committee’s huge annual fundraiser, Breakfast at Tiffany's, is back again, this year with the theme Audrey Sets Sail.
The popular event has been running for close to 20 years and always uses a variation of the Audrey Hepburn, Breakfast at Tiffany's theme.
This year’s theme, Audrey Sets Sail was chosen because the committee is giving away a three night food and wine cruise to one lucky attendee.
Taking place on Thursday, November 3 from 10am until 2pm, the champagne brunch incorporates fashions, entertainment and fundraising for the projects of the Merimbula Special Events Committee (MSEC).
Women are encouraged to frock up for the event with the ever popular Fashions off the Field competition and a fantastic parade featuring outfits from seven local businesses. Although the theme is Audrey Sets Sail women do not have to dress in sailing attire and instead should “wear your highest heels and biggest hat for Melbourne Cup Week”.
In the past few years more than 200 women have attended the Oaks Day event and thousands of dollars has been raised which has all gone into projects aimed at beautifying and bettering Merimbula and the surrounding area.
This year the committee is planning to install five water stations around town. The MSEC has also set aside $50,000 to go towards the construction of a boardwalk between Rotary Park and Bar Beach.
Tickets are $45 per person and are available from the Pambula Merimbula Golf Club reception or Bird in a Tree. For more see the Merimbula Special Events Committee Facebook page.
