The Merimbula Sharks Basketball club in conjunction with NSW Basketball held an under 12s skills day last Sunday with more than 20 kids taking part.
Players who attended, learnt a bundle of new skills and those eligible, went with the intention to be selected for the BNSW Country Jamboree tournament to be held later in the year in Tamworth.
We would like to wish those eligible all the best on selection and look forward to finding results in the upcoming weeks.
A massive thankyou to the fantastic kids who attended and also to Andrew, Tracy and Bailey from NSW Basketball for taking the time out for our club. Thanks to Kelly, Sally and Heidi for organising the day and making it an enjoyable day for everyone.
On the same day John from BNSW came and held an introductory referee's course. The club welcomed lots of fresh and familiar faces and thanked those who took the time mid season to attend.
The club will hold two registrations this week, with the first at the Merimbula courts on August 5 from 5.30-6.30pm and August 6 from 9.30-11am.
Following the registration on the Saturday organisers said there would be mini skills programs running for each of the junior divisions.
“It is encouraged for all junior team coaches to attend and have some hands on help to assist your team for the season,” a spokeswoman for the club said. ”We will have a fantastic NSW Bastketball respresentative there to give us a helping hand,” she said.
The spokeswoman encouraged all teams to get involved. For more information, contact Kelly Badewitz on 0427 952 690.
