The Merimbula-Pambula Bulldogs ensured the rebuilding process continues for Batemans Bay.
The Tigers’ first grade team was defeated 48-6 in round 12 of the Group 16 competition on Sunday.
Playing in the Bay, a try to Mitch Freeman midway through the second half was the only attacking highlight for the home side, as it went down by 42 points to the fifth-placed Bulldogs.
While the Tigers struggled to get forward in the first half, Merimbula-Pambula scored four tries to take a 20-0 lead into the half time break.
The Bulldogs continued to pile on pressure in the second half, crossing over for three unanswered tries.
The Tigers were unable to hide their frustration after the third, as the fallout from a controversial refereeing decision lead to one of their players being sent to the sin bin.
It was a better day for the Tigers reserves as they snuck home 22-20 against Candelo-Bemboka. In the league tag, the Tigers were defeated 12-6 by Candelo-Bemboka and 18-4 by the Merimbula-Pambula Hot Doggies.
