Pambula Rotary president and recent OAM recipient Daryl Dobson was arrested in Bega on Saturday, July 2.
It is believed he was caught using a fake identity.
At around midday Mr Dobson was taken into custody by Constable Sarah Van Horst and in a humiliating turn of events he was put behind bars in the Sapphire Market Place.
Mr Dobson was held in gaol and was put on show for public ridicule as he called friends and family begging them to bail him out.
Fortunately, no official chargers were filed against Mr Dobson as his arrest was all part of the Police Citizens Youth Club (PCYC) Time 4 Kids Fundraiser.
Local businesses, clubs and friends made pledges to keep Mr Dobson behind bars, but thankfully some paid to get him out and he raised $2,400 for the PCYC.
