The provision of carers accommodation at the new South East Regional Hospital (SERH) at Bega has taken a significant step forward with the invitation of expressions of interest to build the units.
Community Carers Accommodation SE (CCASE) Inc which has worked tirelessly to raise money for the project has issued an EoI invitation from suitably qualified and experienced builders to construct stage one of the project at SERH. Stage one will comprise six motel style units and a sitting room with site works expected to commence prior to July.
The builder will be expected to provide licence coverage and co-ordinate and/or oversee sub-contractors and the in kind contributions, within the time frame and the budget.
The project has received a number of notable grants including one for $50,000 from Tathra Lions Club which CCASE president Lynne Koerbin said it was the biggest single contribution from a service club.
The facility will provide relatives and carers with private rooms while they spend time with patients at the SERH.
