More than 220 local kids were treated to a day of fun in the sun at Magic Mountain as part of the Wandarma community day on Tuesday, April 19.
Wandarma Aboriginal Drug and Alcohol Service’s Salt Water People organised the event as a way to bring the Bega and Eden Koori Community Groups together but it was a day for the whole community, Indigenous and non-Indigenous alike.
Originally planned for Monday, April 18, organiser Jacob Francis said he was glad they had postponed the day because the weather turned out to be perfect for using the water slides.
“It’s been a really awesome day,” Mr Francis said. “It was so nice to see the community get together and enjoy a fun day out.”
All children under 18 had free access to all the rides from 10am to 3pm and there was also a free barbecue lunch for all who attended.
The Magic Mountain community day on Tuesday was one of three community focused events hosted by Wandarma during the school holidays.
