It has been a busy week for the bowlers at Tura Beach with club events and pennant rounds running in conjunction.
Round two matches of the club singles were played last Thursday.
Results from those games included Kel Duncombe getting a win over Terry Foster, Graham Burton defeated Terry Och, Ross Davies defeated Kevin Allen, Larry Seely defeated Ted Dean, Vic Clegg defeated Alan Rowlinson, Hans Pynenburg defeated Eric Joslin and Geoff Parry received a forfeit from Trevor Mort.
Semi-final matches of the open pairs were played Kevin Allen and Larry Seely defeated Vic Finlay and Neile Clough.
Ross Davies and Terry Och defeated Ted Dean and Russell Cook.
The final was also played and was a little bit of a lopsided result. Allen and Seely recorded a comfortable win over Davies and Och.
The finals of the pennant season were played across both grade four and five and officials said they were come of the best results from the entire competition.
Tura Beach’s grade four side defeated Bega 9.5 to .5 with Graham Burton’s team getting up 27-4, Kel Duncombe’s team won 23-15 and Ted Dean’s squad had a draw 19-19.
Grade five won by the same margin as Jack Findlay’s team came out on top 22-16, Neile Clough’s team won 19-14 and Russell Cook’s team drew even 17-17.
Practice for the grade seven roster will continue on Tuesday afternoons with trial matches to be arranged.
In social play, the winners of the selected triples last Wednesday were Vic Glegg, Noel McParland and Eric Joslin with 18 points from runners-up C Jackman, Pat Quigley and Mike Reynolds.
Fridays winners in the pairs were Ted Dean and Graham Burton.
