Merimbula’s annual netball carnival has been deemed a huge success by Merimbula District Netball Association (MDNA) president Jo Kellalea.
The carnival which took place on Sunday, April 10, had teams from Merimbula, Bega and Bombala competing in a Round Robbin.
There were around 140 players who formed 17 different teams from the young kids playing Net Set Go to the open women who played Fast Five.
“Everyone seemed to have a great day, we are very happy with how it all turned,” Ms Kellalea said.
“There was a lot of excellent netball played throughout the day.”
All the divisions had some very close games but it was in the Juniors age group that teams were most even.
“A couple of teams ended up with the same amount of points so we had to go to a count back to determine the winner,” she said.
Ms Kellalea said she was full of gratitude to all the players, coaches, umpires and volunteers who made the day possible. She also thanked the local businesses for donating prizes for the club’s raffle.
