Friday night marked the end of something beautiful.
Team Tracey held their last ever fundraiser for Tracey Beasley.
For the past year Team Tracey has organised a number of events, including band nights, kids discos, mega raffles and much more all with the aim of easing the financial burden of Tracey Beasley’s cancer battles.
The Team has raised tens of thousands of dollars and on Friday night, February 26, it all came to close with one last band night.
The kids and I have been so touched by the love, support and generosity of this community that it is time for us to take a step back and I would like to see Team Tracey get on with their own lives again.

It was a relatively low key event with only around 100 people - about one fifth of the size of their first band night – but it was a more relaxed and personal atmosphere.
“Huge thank you to the Pambula Merimbula Golf Club board, management and staff for the fantastic night. It may not have had the turn out of the first night but although it was less numbers, it had lots of heart,” Tracey Beasley said on Saturday.
“I got the opportunity to spend some time with everyone which was just awesome, and so personal.”
Despite the smaller crowd, Team Tracey still managed to raise around $2,300 in ticket sales plus more than $3,000 in donations on the night.
One of the faces behind Team Tracey, Tracy Elton said she is sad to see the end of Team Tracey.
“It’s sad, but we’ve done our job, it has been a lot of work but it has been so rewarding,” Ms Elton said.
“We couldn’t have done any of this without the support of the community and beyond.”
Tracey Beasley took to her facebook page on Saturday afternoon to explain why Team Tracey must end.
Tracey spoke about how it all started with a phone call from her friend Tracy Elton.
“I always knew her to be brilliant and dynamic in everything she did but she was wanting to do something for me. That felt way too overwhelming at the time so I politely refused,” Tracey said.
“I just couldn't handle the thought of accepting anything from anyone else, this cancer was my issue, not anyone else's.”
However, once Tracey’s condition became more serious, after a lot of convincing, she finally decided to agree and to let Tracy Elton help her.
“And that's when all the magic began, and my world was never to be the same. She got her fairy dust and formed "Team Tracey We've got your Back".
“Thank you so much to the amazing team, my whole family will forever be grateful to you and what you have done for us.”
