Council’s Acting General Manager Wayne Sartori said collections were suspended on Wednesday when the Transpacific fleet was recalled for inspection after a fatal crash in Adelaide involving a sewage truck.
“Collections in the Shire have recommenced today (Thursday) at Tathra, Mogareeka, Kalaru and Tura Beach for rubbish (red bins) only,” he said.
“If time permits, recycling will also be collected from these areas later this afternoon. The remainder of regular Wednesday collections will be completed by Friday, 22 August.
“Merimbula rubbish and recycling will be collected on Friday and in Eden and Pambula on Saturday.
“Householders who have any uncollected bins are being asked to leave their bins at the kerb for a collection next week.”
Mr Sartori thanked the community for its co-operation during the disruption.
