The Tigresses were sitting in fifth position behind the Grasshoppers, but a 6-1 win over the Bemboka Braves put them over the line on goal difference.
It was an ironic twist of fate that saw the Tigresses playing a rain catch-up round in heavy rain against the Braves on Sunday.
The Tigresses are now looking to gear up for the finals.
Wolumla midfielder Caitlin Johnson said the team needs to concentrate on its game plan.
“Our biggest worry is trying not to play any of our opposition’s game,” Johnson said.
“We want to play our style and keep control and we will have to do that to stay in the finals.”
Despite a solid effort across the board, Johnson said Sam Johnson, Kirsty Whitby McBeath, Lisa Fuller and Tegan Grant were all in good form.
“I think they will bring their A game to the finals with the support from Amy Legge and Kirsty McPaul,” she said.
Meanwhile, the Grasshoppers are now out of contention in the ladies division.
The Pambula Penguinettes also missed qualifying with just one win on the board this season.
The Tigresses will face Tathra in the minor semi-final on Sunday at Wolumla from 12.10pm.
