The Ford Park Inclusive Playspace promises to bring new joy to the lives of children with disabilities and abled children as they play together in an inclusive play environment.
Mayor Bill Taylor was fulsome in his praise for the project while NSW Treasurer and member for Bega Andrew Constance gave a heart-warming speech about the happiness the playspace will bring particularly for children with disabilities.
The playground will be the first of its kind in the Bega Valley Shire and its plans have been developed with input from community partners, local school students and community members over a two and a half year period.
Some of the 25 key play equipment features include sand pit and water play; sensory walkway music cubes; timber balance; climbing structure and agility and co-ordination equipment.
The design of the project is sensitive to the natural setting of Ford Park and protects and enhances that aspect.
