The news came as a great shock to parents and students. It is generally acknowledged that under Mr Thomson’s guiding hand the school has made great strides forward and he has been an energetic and dedicated principal.
Mr Thomson was told on Wednesday that that he had been appointed to Milton Public School to commence duties from term two (April 28).
Mr Thomson said: “It is certainly with mixed feelings that I have accepted this position as I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here at Pambula and will leave with only good memories.
“Our school's great reputation has been built on the hard work and dedication of all staff, parents and the broader community.”
Mr Thomson also thanked the Merimbula News Weekly for its support of the school and its events.
“It is through the MNW that we have been able to share many of our achievements,” Mr Thomson said.
