About 5pm emergency services were called to Oceanview Avenue, after a nine-month-old baby was hit by a Mitsubishi Pajero reversing from a driveway.

The baby was taken to Bega District Hospital in a serious condition with head and facial injuries.

The 67-year-old male driver was breath-tested and provided a negative sample.

Officers from Far South Coast Local Area Command are investigating the crash and are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.
