The day is promising a full array of AFL action with plenty of teams taking part.
Sapphire Coast development coordinator Jarrod Moore said he was excited about the day which will showcase local clubs in a fun round-robin event.
“Two games will be run simulataneously, with teams playing the new AFL nines format,” Moore said.
“[The format] will be implemented within clubs as an intra 10s program for children [who are] eight to 10.”
Moore said gates open at 9.30 with the first games to kick off from 10am.
Each team will play three round-robin games with 15 minute halves.
“Teams competing include the Narooma Lions, Bermagui Breakers, Eden Whalers, Pambula Panthers, Merimbula Diggers, Tathra Sea Eagles, Bega Bombers and the Cooma Cats,” Moore said.
Moore said the results of the round-robin games would determine the top ranks for a shot at playing in the grand final.
“After the round-robin, one will play four and two v three for a place in the final that starts at 4.30pm.”
SCAFL is excited to include a strong number of junior ranks.
Moore said there would be plenty of action to watch when the season starts.
“Age groups include Auskick for five to 10-year-olds, intra 10s for eight to 10-year-olds, under 13s, under 16s, development and seniors.”
The official season will launch on April 5.
